UK Riots and Support

Posted on 8 August 2024

Following the recent riots across the UK, our Chief Executive, Neil Blanchard, shares a message of solidarity for humanity and against racism and violence:

‘’Like I’m sure many of you feel, I am deeply saddened and shocked by the recent stabbings in Southport and the subsequent riots that have caused pain and destruction in communities across the UK.

Violence and racism in any form must not be tolerated, and my heart goes out to everyone affected by these tragic events. These are distressing times.

At Southdown, we stand up for humanity and believe diversity creates stronger and more vibrant communities. Take care of yourselves and each other, and reach out for support if you need to.”

What’s happening in your local area:

To keep up to date with what’s happening in your local area, we recommend the Sussex Police’s website and social media (Facebook, Twitter/ X, and Instagram).

We advise to follow updates on official channels such as the local news or the Sussex Police’s channels as there is a lot of misinformation online.
