Cathy graduated from Manchester University with a nursing degree and spent most of her nursing career in primary care, becoming Director of Nursing in an NHS Community Trust. She subsequently led one of the first wave NHS Integrated Care Systems.

Cathy is a non executive director at Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust and Chair of Education For Health, a charity that provides education and training to health and social care staff.
