Abbey Darling brings extensive experience from her role as Director of Operations and Women’s Projects in the criminal justice sector, working with both prisons and probation services, as well as women and girls’ community services. She has a strong background in strategic leadership, governance, and service development.
At the Prison Radio Association (PRA), Abbey successfully implemented new operational processes, broadened service offerings, and developed partnerships within the women’s criminal justice sector. She is skilled in navigating complex situations with confidence, maintaining professional boundaries, and supporting teams in reflective practice for continuous improvement.
As a Designated Safeguarding Lead and HR Manager, Abbey has dealt with sensitive and high-risk scenarios, demonstrating expertise in risk assessment, escalation, and compassionate problem-solving. She has also developed CRM systems to enhance organisational performance and is a certified Data Protection Practitioner.
Abbey believes in creating positive outcomes for vulnerable people. Her collaborative approach and passion for aligning operational strategy with community needs shines in her work. She is on a co-opted position on Southdown’s Service Quality Committee (SQC).
