Come and join Southdown Outreach & Move On teams, supporting people who are rough sleeping, to move away from homeless by accessing a range of accommodation options.
Working alongside a multiagency team you will support people who have experienced the trauma of homelessness, to make positive and lasting changes in their lives.
Role Summary
As an Outreach & Move On Worker you will provide early morning street outreach to people rough sleeping in Hastings and Rother – combined with move on / tenancy support as your clients take steps away from homelessness and into accommodation.
You will provide flexible, trauma-informed support for a caseload of clients, focusing on ending rough sleeping by identifying the range of support each person needs. This may include support with substance dependency, mental and physical health needs, domestic abuse, current or historical offending.
The working pattern includes two early morning shifts, starting at 5.00am (Summer) or 6.00am (Winter) Monday – Friday. Other working days are 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday – Friday.
You will be paid additional allowances on top of your agreed Salary. These allowances include
- £1,000 per year Essential Car User Allowance
- Plus £800 per year Outreach Worker’ Allowance
- Plus Unsociable Allowance (if working unsociable hours) of £4.40 per shift
