All the fun of the Fiesta with sunshine & stocks
Posted on 2 July 2024
On Monday afternoon (24 June) our learning disability services across Sussex came together for our annual Summer Fiesta held at the South of England Showground. Once again, it was a memorable event filled with music, magic, stalls, competitions, and stocks!
Over 200 people attended including those supported in our services and their Support Workers along with colleagues from our central support teams.
Louise Boorman, in our Central Learning Disability Services’ team, said, “Everybody enjoyed visiting the wonderful stalls, taking part in competitions, and throwing wet sponges at Southdown board members, senior leaders, and managers. Competitions were held and winners received handmade trophies and rosettes which were made by our incredibly talented art club in one of our supported living services. The afternoon ended with our Headliner DJ and Youtuber – the fantastic Ross from one of our Brighton-based supported living services – playing the best tunes.”
Neil Blanchard, our Chief Executive, added, “The exceptional care provided across our learning disability services was on full display at our annual Summer Fiesta. A huge thank you to everyone who participated and attended; it was a fantastic event that really showcased the best of what we do.”
