About the service

The Substance Misuse Employment Service supports people receiving structured treatment for drug and alcohol dependence and are living in East Sussex.

The service is provided in partnership with Change Grow Live, and funded by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

Stable employment is a key factor in reducing the effects of substance misuse on individuals, their families and local communities. This is achieved by:

  • Allowing an individual to work towards or achieve financial independence
  • Allowing an individual to reach their full potential
  • Lessening the chance of relapse

How support is provided?

Support is provided through an approach called Individual Placement and Support (IPS), to support people to secure or retain paid work. This approach brings all parties together to ensure people get a job that suits their needs and their employer gains or retains an employee that can work effectively and contribute to the business.

Am I eligible?

Support is available for people aged 18 or over, living in East Sussex who are receiving structured treatment from Change Grow Live.

Referrals

We accept referrals from professionals from Change Grow Live or the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Please speak to your Recovery Worker or Work Coach who can refer you directly to us.
