Investors in People is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to lead, support and manage people effectively to achieve sustainable results. Underpinning the Standard is the Investors in People framework, reflecting the latest workplace trends, essential skills and effective structures required to outperform in any industry. Investors in People enables organisations to benchmark against the best in the business on an international scale.
The Assessor gathered information from the survey sent to staff and several individual interviews.
Feedback included these points to be proud of:
- The way in which you have supported your team at Southdown Housing during the Pandemic
- The quality and quantity of training provided
- The proven sustainability of Southdown Housing
- The individual support that you give to members of the team who have specific issues such as health problems
- Your focus on the future, never standing still, always looking for new ways to achieve your goals – The Southdown Way – Digital Strategy

I’m delighted to announce we have been awarded Investors in People Gold accreditation for the second consecutive time. This premium accolade is given in recognition of excellence in areas including people management, leadership, performance evaluation and empowerment. Fewer than 1 in 5 accredited organisations achieve Gold.
We’re delighted that our commitment to being the best employer we can be has been recognised in this way, particularly as the accreditation is based on staff’s feedback and after a gruelling 18 months working through the disruption of the pandemic. It’s evidence of the fact that everyone is fully engaged in supporting each other and is doing their best to make work better here.
Only by listening to our staff’s experiences can we provide a supportive, happy and productive culture to work within and we will make sure there is plenty of opportunity for them to continue to share your experiences and suggestions over the coming months.
